This is 16 days eastern Bhutan holiday program, which will cover western Bhutan, central central and eastern Bhutan. Bhutan is truly a Heaven, with captivating mountains and marvels of nature and flora and fauna. Eastern Bhutan is more fascinating as it covers the natural beauty, amazing countryside and important cultural sightseeing with rich history. It is one of the least unexplored regions and offers authentic experiences.

Day 1: Arrival at Paro (2,300m)

Arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the most scenic mountain airports in the world. After hotel check-in, enjoy a relaxed evening stroll through Paro town and explore the local handicrafts market. Overnight at Paro.

Day 2: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Morning hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), dramatically perched on a cliff 900m above the valley floor. The round hike takes 5–6 hours (approx. 9–10 km). Optional traditional hot stone bath in the evening. Overnight at Paro.

Day 3: Paro to Thimphu (54 km, 1.5 hrs)

Drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Visit Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), Simply Bhutan Museum, Takin Preserve Centre, and the traditional handmade paper factory. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 4: Thimphu to Punakha (75 km, 3 hrs)

Drive over Dochula Pass (3,100m) offering panoramic Himalayan views on clear days. Continue to Punakha. Visit Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility), Punakha Dzong (Fortress of Great Happiness), and the Suspension Bridge. Optional river rafting. Overnight at Punakha.

Day 5: Punakha to Phobjikha (3–4 hrs)

Drive to Phobjikha Valley, a beautiful glacial valley and winter home of black-necked cranes (seasonal). Explore Gangtey Monastery and enjoy valley walks. Overnight at Phobjikha.

Day 6: Phobjikha to Trongsa (4–5 hrs)

Scenic drive through forests and mountain passes to Trongsa. Visit the impressive Trongsa Dzong overlooking the Mangde River gorge. Overnight at Trongsa.

Day 7: Trongsa to Bumthang (3 hrs)

Drive over Yotong La Pass to Bumthang Valley, Bhutan’s spiritual heartland. Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Monastery. Overnight at Bumthang.

Day 8: Bumthang Exploration

Excursion to Mebartsho (Burning Lake), an important pilgrimage site. Continue exploring remaining monasteries and villages of Bumthang Valley. Overnight at Bumthang.

Day 9: Bumthang to Mongar (6–7 hrs)

One of Bhutan’s most scenic drives via Thrumshing La Pass. Visit ruins of Zhongar Dzong and enjoy views of Gyelpozhing Dam. Overnight at Mongar.

Day 10: Excursion to Lhuntse

Day trip to Lhuntse, known for Kishuthara weaving and traditional villages. Return to Mongar. Overnight at Mongar.

Day 11: Mongar to Trashigang (3–4 hrs)

Drive to Trashigang, the largest district in eastern Bhutan. Visit Trashigang Dzong and explore the town. Overnight at Trashigang.

Day 12: Day Excursion to Trashiyangtse

Excursion to Trashiyangtse, visit Chorten Kora and explore traditional woodcraft villages. Return to Trashigang. Overnight at Trashigang.

Day 13: Excursion to Merak, Radi & Rangjung

Full-day cultural exploration of eastern highland communities including Merak village, Radi weaving centre, and Rangjung Monastery. Overnight at Trashigang.

Day 14: Trashigang to Panbang via Nganglam (6–7 hrs)

Drive south toward the subtropical region via Nganglam to Panbang. Experience dramatic landscape change from mountains to lowland forests. Overnight at Panbang.

Day 15: Royal Manas National Park

Explore Royal Manas National Park, Bhutan’s oldest national park known for rich biodiversity. Visit the heritage village home in Bjoka. Overnight at Panbang.

Day 16: Panbang to Tingtibi

Drive to Tingtibi. Visit Trong Heritage Village and enjoy riverside landscapes and rural experiences. Overnight at Tingtibi.

Day 17: Tingtibi to Thimphu (Full Day Drive)

Scenic drive back to Thimphu via Trongsa. Evening at leisure for shopping or relaxation. Overnight at Thimphu.
